3-year-old Axel's room is an amazing, colourful and warm room put together by a careful selection of rich colours, vintage finds, a large soft rug and personal details.
Nanna, Axel's mom, fell in love with Thorvaldsen's Museum while being pregnant with Axel, and decided then that Axel's room should take inspiration from there. The result: Warm yellow walls and long, yellow, shiny curtains that almost embrace you as you enter.
Looks aside, Axel's parents wanted to create a fun, soft and comfortable room with endless possibilities to play and have indeed succeeded doing that. Only one rule exists here: "Axel's room, Axel's rules" making this is a wonderful space to play, explore and enjoy – with no other thing in mind but to have fun.

A large soft rug from Dusty Deco makes playing here comfortable for Axel, his friends and his parents.
Walls are painted with 'India Yellow No 66' from Farrow & Ball; a rich yellow colour that pops against the white panels and ceiling.

A papiér-maché bear hangs on the wall by the little green table and chair set that Axel refers to as his "office space".
Above, a cherry red pin board where Axel keeps drawings, pictures and other small treasures.

Personal pictures and cute drawings hang on the pin board, with its cherry red colour is a wonderful contrast to the yellow walls.

A cupboard was found second hand and restored by Axel's granddad. Now it is used for clothes, shoes and toys. On top sits a pile of books, an amazing jeans jacket and a small raffia basket. Find a similar one here.

Heavy curtains hang by the window and almost surround Axel's bed, which is placed in front of the window. The window sill is used for books, a picture in a frame and fresh flowers.

A great collection of personal things from Axel's name in wooden letters to a handmade drawing above the wardrobe, which was made by a friend of the family.
Seen here: A small raffia basket (find another one here), colourful suitcases (find similar ones here) and lots of books.

"Den Fantastisk Bus" sits in the window alongside plenty of other books, a little wooden stacking toy – explore alternative stacking toys here – and a picture of Axel and a friend in a frame.

A vintage jeans shirt from Axel's admirable wardrobe, plus a cute little wooden elephant on the floor.
"A kid's room truly comes to life when its little inhabitant takes charge and explores everything in there."
– Nanna, Axel's mom

Beautiful colour combinations in this corner of the room with the yellow wall paint, a dark brown papier-mâché mask, the green table and a red pinboard.
