Confirmations are just around the corner, and together with Forlaget Gyldendal we have selected a range of great stories for teens and pre-teens in beautiful gift editions.

A good book can open up countless new worlds. A story can make a teenager feel seen, reminding them that they are not alone in their thoughts and feelings. They may even meet characters they recognize themselves in, or ones they truly admire.

These reasons, and many more, make books a wonderful and thoughtful gift for a lovely, quirky and sweet confirmand or any young person – now and for years to come.

Eleanor's room

11-year-old Eleanor is entering her pre-teens, and her room is changing right along with her: Compared to previous years, there’s far less space devoted to toys, and her room now makes space for what she loves today: A drum kit, and space for having her friends over.

Eleanor has also recently upgraded to a double bed, ready for plenty of sleepovers. Shelves store all of her books, and a cosy little table and chair is where she makes her homework and creative projects.

According to Eleanor, her room can be easily described in the following three words: Cozy, tidy and spacious – and we couldn't agree more.

Beautiful books from Gyldendal on the chest by Eleanor's bed, alongside little treasure boxes and a small Snoopy tray used to store jewelry. Find Snoopy trays online here.

Tine Bryld's triology 'Liv & Alexander' published by Gyldendal in a beautiful, single-volume gift edition.

A pink table from Beau Marché is paired with a rattan chair and make for a small place to sit, draw and do homework.

Above the table hangs a pin board – explore our options here. More pin boards coming soon.

Small shelves allow for storage of plenty of books and other keepsakes. Several books from Gyldendal's youth- and teenage category are seen here.

Lots of markers, a small mirror and Danish author Bjarne Reuter's classic books in new editions on the table.

C.S. Lewis' incredible Narnia stories in a rattan basket by the bed make an exciting bedtime read.

The ladder leads up to a little nook, where Eleonora likes to sit and read, and hang out with her friends.

Another classical book: J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit.

Eleonora has painted flowers on the doors to her cupboard. A 'Flowers' tote hangs on the door, and her drum set is seen on the right.

A luxury edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. This version comes with wonderful illustrations and imaginative fold-out elements.
