With clear references to English countryside interiors with their use of pillows, curtains and colours, Karl's room has a cosy, calm and soft feeling to it.
The room may be small, but it has everything a 1-year old boy needs: Here is space to sleep, to play, to create and to explore – all kept in zones to create a sense of balance in the room, and for each thing to have its place.
Karl's crib, a 'Juno Bed', is a vintage find in a beautiful blue that matches the light blue walls painted in 'Maxwell's Silver' from File Under Pop. A view into the room from the hallway shows a large wooden kitchen, a raffia basket and colourful suitcases, where toys are stored.
Karl loves music, and it shows: A Vilac Drum, a guitar and a harmonica all have a special place in his room, alongside books and a classic Moneyphant from Georg Jensen.
The quilt on the wall is from New York-based Thompson Street Studio. The wooden ship was a gift for Karl for his baptism. In the crib is an Apple Pillow and other blue cushions; on the floor is a rug from Aiayu, and next to the bed is a little rattan chair from Bonton.
Karl's favourite brown teddy is a soft and cute companion, ready to play with during day and to cuddle with at night. The wall lamp is by Original BTC and bed linen is from Aiayu.
The built-in desk is a great place for Karl and his older brother to sit and draw or play with beads. The Klapp High Chair is used by both boys, and is practical as it can be folded when not in use. A flag garland hangs on the pinboard, markers are on the desk, a hand knitted whale lies on books from Elsa Beskow, and a raffia basket on the floor is used to store toys.
One of Karl's favourite books right now is "Puttes Eventyr i Blåbærskoven" written and illustrated by Elsa Beskow and first published in 1901.
Cute drawings and personal pictures hang on the pinboard, while a suitcase from Caramel and a little red bus are souvenirs brought home from a trip to London.
Karl loves to play with his Wooden Play Kitchen where he spends hours cooking, opening and closing the door and drawers, and turning the knobs and the faucet.

An antique drawer is used for Karl's clothes, and on top is the changing area. A Duck Lamp creates a soft light at night and the Cherry Birds Mobile makes diaper changes more fun with the cherries and the bird moving up and down above him.
A knitted snake also lies here while a merino wool & fleece jacket hangs on the rattan hook on the wall. Next to the drawer sits a Charlie Chair.
A great selection of good things: A children's hair brush from Mason Pearson, a Nanchen doll with a blue hat, the Ultra Gentle Baby Lotion from Abbate Y La Mantia and a pacifier from BIBS - all stored in a suitcase to keep things tidy.
The teddybear-drawings were found in London in a vintage shop and have since been framed and hung on the wall above the drawer, adding a cute and nostalgic feeling to this corner.
The wool & fleece merino jacket is perfect right now for spring, where temperatures are rising, but it may still be cold. Next to it, Studio Mini's blue 100% cashmere hat.
